1. Scan for viruses in a Windows PC
2. Access a Windows partition for backup
3. Rescue a PC

14/10 : Do you know your CPU's and hard disk temperature?
I used to monitor my hard disk temperature all the time. My hard disk has been running for many years (at least 7 years). I notice that when the temperature is high, the hard disk tend to shorten it's life. Thus I put up a fan to blow the hard disk and monitor it's temperature when it is under heavy load.
I use a program call SpeedFan to monitor it. The software display the hard disk temperature in tray icon (a small icon beside the clock) that make it really easy to monitor the temperature. Watch the video below to find out where I downloaded the file and how to read the temperature.

08/08 : See HyperFinger Time Attendance software in action
I'm going to share with you how HyperFinger Time Attendance software is in action in this video. This is a software of my development using DigitalPersona U.are.U fingerprint device. It can also use proximity reader or a barcode reader.

04/08 : Change My Documents folder to some where else
Do you know that you My Documents folder could be changed to some where else other than the default folder?
You can change the folder to some where else so that C: contains only system files which unlikely to change while all your data is on some other partition or drive. If anything went wrong to drive C:, formatting of drive C: will no longer need you to backup My Documents.

In this video I'm going to show you how to create a VPN (Virtual Private Network) using Hamachi which is a free service.
A VPN will allow you to connect 2 or more PCs together over internet securely. Hamachi comes with AES256 encryption which ensure that communication between 2 PCs is totally secure.

You can actually name a folder a drive letter using a software call VisualSubst. It is an upgrade version of DOS command subst. Simply follow the video below to create virtual drive for your folder and avoid using long and unfriendly folder name.

You can actually check your GMail using Thunderbird if you don't like to use browser to check your mail. I have made a video tutorial to show you exactly how this works.

22/05 : Implementation of MySQL backup system
Recently I successfully implementing a backup system for the MySQL in a primary school using tools that is free.
The tools is call MySQL GUI Tools at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/gui-tools/5.0.html
The tools will backup MySQL databases into a single sql file which is of text format. In combination with Windows Scheduler, I have set it to run the backup 4 times a day.
If you need backup solution, try it, it might fit your needs.
